Choose the island day you actually want
For a beach-first visit, begin with access and the return crossing. For a day that is as much about sailing as the island, compare boat itineraries and the time they leave ashore. If golf, watersports or an overnight stay is the reason for going, arrange that particular experience before treating the boat as the only booking you need.
The most useful preparation is to connect your chosen activity with its actual departure point and return arrangements. Pointe Maurice, Trou d’Eau Douce, Pointe Jérôme and Pointe des Régates are not interchangeable names. A driver and a boat crew need the same confirmed meeting point.

Start with access and the return
For the official leisure-island shuttle, Pointe Maurice is the named departure. Excursions from Trou d’Eau Douce or Mahébourg have their own meeting instructions. Establish which service you are using before arranging a driver.
The return is part of that same decision. Keep the landing point, regrouping time and boat arrangement with your booking details. General island opening hours do not tell you when your particular excursion returns.
Choose between time ashore and a day on the water
A direct crossing leaves the island itself as the main event. A catamaran itinerary uses part of the day for sailing, meals and any other stops. The GRSE waterfall is on the mainland and is a separate visit when an itinerary includes it.

Keep optional activities and meals visible
Beach time, watersports, golf and lunch are different components. Some are included in particular packages; others need separate arrangements. Compare the total for the party with the actual inclusions rather than treating the island as one all-inclusive ticket.
The activity and dining guides help you choose what deserves time in the day. If a dietary need, swimming ability or another requirement determines whether an activity works, resolve that specific arrangement before the crossing.
Plan special visits separately
Golf has its own transfer and timing arrangements. Overnight accommodation also requires a separate arrival, meal and departure plan. Neither should be treated as a spontaneous extension of a leisure day ticket.
Use the golf and overnight guides when those are the reason for visiting. They connect back to access and dining so the arrangements work together, while keeping current prices, availability and individual terms with the actual service.
